Rockets Guard Kyle Lowry Charged with Misdemeanor Battery
[Clearly, Kyle has some temper problems. He's charged with misdemeanor battery over an incident during a basketball game in Las Vegas during the summer. He assaulted a referee with a basketball, and faces a penalty of up to six months in jail or a $1000 fine. -- oal]

Not a big story to me
People on twitter seem to be freaking out about Lowry spending “up to 6 months” in prison, but this to me like the type of case that gets pleaded out for community service or the charges dropped. Can’t imagine Lowry doing any time for this.
Perhaps “not a big story” is a bit callous and it’s disappointing to see from a leader like Lowry, but I’m not too concerned about this.

I’m no lawyer, but it seems really, really unlikely that he’ll actually serve jail time. Most misdemeanors have jail time punishments attached. You know, for when you can’t pay the fine or you’re a mega asshole or something.
