It sucks to lose. Even in the preseason. For years, that's why I didn't care about it. Football is always the most ridiculous.
The year the Patriots went 16-0 they went 0-4 in the preseason.
When the Lions when 0-16, they went 4-0 in the preseason.
But for years, the Rockets were kind of set in their lineups. Even the last couple of years without Yao, you still knew who would end up in the rotation. You knew more or less who the starters would be at the beginning of the year. You knew who the backups were too.
But that's all changed. Think about it. According to fans and writers, we could have:
One real small forward (Chandler Parsons)
One true power forward (Patrick Patterson)
One true center (Omer Asik)
That's 17 players right there. You can only have 15. Jon Brockman is also on the roster, but it's unlikely he sticks.
So in today's thread, I want to know who you think:
1. Gets cut?
2. Makes the 10-man rotation assuming McHale goes with 10 and not 9 or 11.
I'm forgoing the matchups because too many guys are getting days off and we don't find out about them until an hour or so before tip.
Players to watch: Memphis Grizzlies
Jerryd Bayless: Is he the backup point guard they desperately need?
Hamed Haddadi: Persian pride makes this easy, and he picked up a technical in their last preseason game. HOW?
Ronald "Flip" Murray: He's still in the league???
Players to watch: Houston Rockets
Someone who wants to play defense on the break. Seriously, you're telling me a team that wants to run up and down doesn't know how to stop the break or prevent it at least. We run it every day in practice. There has to be someone who knows what they're doing, right? Right? RIGHT???
Donatas Motiejunas: You gotta show me something rook.
Jeremy Lin: He sat against the Mavs, and played horribly against the Spurs. Time for a bounce-back game?
