The Houston Chronicle reported yesterdayy that Houston have decided to pull Donatas Motiejunas out of the D-League. Today Jason Friedman added that Scott Machado would also make a return to the Rockets.
Donatas Motiejunas lead the Vipers in scoring where he averaged 24 points per game during his two game stint on 52.8% shooting. The Lithuanian forward also averaged 9.5 boards a game and lead his team in minutes played.
Scott Machado, the undrafted point guard out of Iona, also boasted an impressive line at 16 points per game and 8 assists per game. On the down side, Machado shot 37% from the field and only hit one of his 9 three point attempts. Machado is clearly a work in progress as a jump shooter but his ability to make plays could get him some significant burn in the NBA if Houston's point guard rotation were to experience any injuries.
What does this mean for the Rockets' rotation? Probably nothing. Donatas and Machado might get some garbage time in a blowout win or loss but I don't think, barring injuries, either will get any significant minutes.
