My ideal Houston Rockets off-season would go like this...
- sign Eric Gorden with all that money we have for the offseason
- sign Goran Dragic, and promise him the starting pg position, that is what he wants
- bring back ole faithful in Marcus Camby, reduced role at hopefully a reduced price
- trade Lowry, Martin, and Scola for Pau Gasol. I have never been a fan of this trade, but if everything else falls into place, this would be a good move for the team. This would also help us cap-wise (according to espn.com) and give us championship experience.
- finally draft Austin Rivers, and Tyler Zeller/ trade back and get Fab Melo. I really believe rivers will be a great player and will make all the necessary adjustments to correct his game where it is flawed now. I like Zeller's game he seems like a sure-fire player, however Melo would be a big man to fear on defense and on the boards, he would also grow as a player, im thinking Deandre Jordan.
pg: Dragic, Llull
sg: Gorden, Lee, Rivers
sf: Parsons, Budinger, Morris
pf: Gasol, Paterson, Motijunas
c: Melo, Camby, Smith
I know This doesnt fix our center position on paper, but i think Melo or smith could suprise us given a training camp, or even Motijunas if he looks the part. If all else fails we could play around with Gasol or bring back Dalembert.
