I miss having a superstar player. Yao Ming was my favorite Rocket of the 2000's and the way he went out will forever be (in my mind) one of those great "what if" stories. Now I keep hearing a lot about the Rockets making a move for Dwight Howard (mind you, Yao ate his lunch every time the Rockets played Orlando), and I'm really excited about the team again. And then I saw what it would take to consider prying him away. I am on the "ship Kevin Martin out" bandwagon, but the rest just shocks me:
Chandler Parsons, Marcus Morris AND Patrick Patterson
Jeremy Lamb, Royce White AND Terrance Jones
The Mavs 1st round pick AND the Raptors 1st round Lottery Guaranteed pick (plus maybe others to follow).

That should be enough to net 2 superstars, not 1. But then here's the trash coming back: Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon, Big Baby Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu. Wow. Its just basically like the Rockets and Magic switched cities. Why would you do that trade? Seriously? Why would you trade for a superstar, remove ALL of your young talent and get a guy who only wants to stay in town for 1 year. This is not the kind of move I'd like to make. I can see SOME of those pieces going in a deal, but definitely not ALL. Its like we're rewarding Orlando by giving them a "get out of Howard purgatory free" card.
I have a lot of worries in taking on all of Orlando's garbage to get this trade to work. I didn't see Brooklyn getting that much garbage and they were giving up a much less attractive package than we are.
What do you guys think?
