Are the Rockets Rebuilding?

It might be too early to tell right now and we will know more by the end of the summer but do you think the Rockets are in rebuild mode?

Here is some evidence:

Houston and Brooklyn were deep in discussions on trade for Luis Scola on Saturday, but talks fell apart before completion, sources tell Y!

the trade was centered around Scola for Future pick(s) and expiring deals.

The sign and trade offer will center around Kevin Martin and the Rockets will allow the Hornets to choose either two or three of their young prospects- Jeremy Lamb, Royce White, Patrick Patterson, Terrance Jones, and Donatas Montiejuns. It is no secret that the Hornets targeted Kevin Martin last summer in the original CP3 trade, and Dell Demps has been fond of Montiejunas for some time now. Again, this will be the Rockets starting point- who knows where Dell can take it.

A few days ago, the Rockets made it clear that Omer Asik would the their first priority in free agency. Today, they made good on their word, reportedly agreeing with him on a 3 year, $25.1 million deal.

In all senarios we are getting younger and looking at the future. No word with Camby yet, I wonder if he would be happy with the mini MLE whcih I think is like $3/yr. I dont think they are going after Gasol anymore and Howard is almost out of the question. Going after them would give Houston instant sucess but not make us Championship contenders. So I think its getting too hard to get them and in the end its not worth it.

I like the idea of trading our vets for younger players, picks and expiring contracts. That screams REBUILD and hopefully these young guys like Lamb, Motie, White and T. Jones get some experience under them while maybe not having the best record and a shot at a top 3 pick in the 2013 Draft. Adding a healthy Eric Gordon would be awsome as well.

Do you like our young core that we are trying to rebuilding with?

No cursing in title. No pirated material, such as links to online game streams. Do not cut/paste entire sections of content from other websites. Thanks.
