So apparently we're in on the hot pursuit to bring back "Linsanity" to Houston. So why not help facilitate this deal with a little bit of sign-and-trade help?

The scoop: the Rockets are trying to sign Jeremy Lin to a 3 or 4 year deal similar to the one Omer Asik got. In this deal the last 2 years are "backloaded" (though I need a little help understanding how that impacts the Rocket's salary cap- is the cap hit spread through 4 years or do we get hit with cap hell in year 3?). Well, Kyle Lowry has to be fuming at this deal, along with his anger at playing with McHale. So why not do a little sign-and-trade here? This needs a little bit of creative flexibility to understand and go with here, but I think this could go possibly

New York Gets:
Kyle Lowry
Kevin Martin
Luis Scola
1 of the following: Terrance Jones, Royce White, Pattrick Patterson, Jon Brockman, Jeremy Lamb
Future 1st Round Selection

Houston Gets:
Jeremy Lin
Amare Stoudemire

Does it solve all of our problems? Absolutely not, but Amare played alright with Lin last year, but it gives Houston a bit of size and a star to build around plus a young PG who can play. Amare can play his natural PF spot with Asik at the "5" for defense, Parsons and Lee as your wings will be good too, and this team could be onto some good things. Of course this is contingent on resigning Courtney Lee, if not...well...uh oh no!

For the Knicks, you give Anthony and Chandler 3 starters who will help shore up some of the Knicks issues. Martin and Scola instantly become #2 and #3 scorers for the Knicks and Lowry can get a nice start with Woodson. Plus they get a young guy to develop behind their starters.

Am I shooting off smoke? Yes, Amare is an injury risk waiting to happen, and the Knicks may not want to risk dismantling their own mediocre version of the "super best friends" but as constructed New York will NOT beat Miami.
