Lithuania kicked butt yesterday and wasted a Horford led Dominican Republic team, thus advancing to the London 2012 Olympics. After yesterday's game coach Kemzura said that additional players will be added to team Lithuania practice and friendly games over the next several weeks prior to the Olympics. The two he specifically mentioned did not include D-Mo but were injured players who missed the qualifying tournament in Venezuela due to injury.
Now that D-Mo has signed with Houston he has no excuse what-so-ever for not saying yes to at least trying to make the Lithuanian team for the Olympics. I for one hope he says yes and makes the Lithuanian squad. Las Vegas is mostly scrubs many of whom will never play in the NBA. D-Mo have enough high level European experience and I think if wants to do the patriotic thing now that he has signed his contract with Houston he will give it a shot at making the Lithuanian Olympic squad.
My guess is if he says yes he will make the team and play in London for Lithuania. Then again he may have already committed to playing in Las Vegas which in my opinion would be a big mistake on his part now that he has no excuse for not trying to make the Lithuanian London squad.
