"Socks help to absorb this sweat and draw it to areas where air can evaporate the perspiration" - wikipedia
in other words the supporting cast in a basketball team are used to cover up the bad areas of the franchise players game (Harden for us)
Our problem is james harden hasn't got any massive holes in his game. Lots of things can be improved ie 3pt shooting and defence but im comfortable watching him pull up for a 3 or having to play on kobe for a possession or two. However im not happy watching Jeremy air ball threes and simply handing the ball over to the oppossion, granted he is 2nd in the league in total steals but he has a steal-turnover ratio of .67 meaning every steal he gets he turns the ball over 1.5 times, that doesnt help.
Im not here to just have a good ol rant about how bad jeremy lin is, because he is not that bad he does alot of things well, just the things he does do well are done better when using a beard. I want to bring some attention to one of San Antonios back up guards, Mr. Patty Mills. i truly believe that he is the man for the guard spot next to Harden, he is shooting the 3 so much better then lin, 41% compared to 29.3%. He would serve as a terrific pass out option for Harden to hit up. He is also not a horrid defender average about 1.8 steals per 48 putting him .1 below paul pierce and dwayne wade.
Having a Patty Mills - James Harden combo would bring similarities to the golden days of the cavs when they deployed a starting lineup involving Lebron and Mo Williams for a stretch of two seasons. the second season 2009-10 was arguably lebrons best season as a pro, winning the mvp award and averaging 29.7 ppg while maintaining an outrageous50.3 fg%, he also averaged a career best 8.6 assists per game. i would hand out a flyer for Mo williams to be our pg but at 30 years old he has seen better days.
However both Patty and Mo will be free agents at the end of this season so a trade might not be the best option. I am only guessing right now but there must be some interest in Jeremy Lin with him playing some decent ball right now. If i were to guess who should be looking at his services id have to go with atlanta, since Devin Harris isn't their future and i dont see Jeff Teague becoming much better then what he is. Atlanta also has attendance issues and this year with Jeremy Lin we have 1000 more people per game than last year.
