According to his own Twitter, former Miami Heat draftee (by way of Lakers) and Euro Cup star Patrick Beverley was signed about 12 hours ago. I believe it's a 3 year deal similar to that of James Anderson. So, the big question is who goes to make room for him on the roster? It will probably happen within the next day or so, barring a trade--
First up, and most likely...
Scott Machado. He's got the non-guaranteed contract. I think there are only 7 days left till the Rockets can keep him or cut him. I'd be sad to see him go, but he'd be stuck behind Lin, TD, and now Pat Bev. It would be nice if the Rox could get a pick for him, but if he is waived I'm sure there will be some vultures.. (Jazz, Mavs).
Next in line...
Royce "Be Well" White. Rox have said they would not cut him, but he's making it as easy as possible for them to do so. It's not quite clear what he wants by "a protocol" to deal with players with mental issues.
I don't know who would be next, but maybe..
Cole Ald-readyfin-ich-ed. Tried my best. Another victim of a buyout like that of Cook earlier in the week.
It might be tough to cut Machado but I would like to see the guy get some minutes. Also, Pat Bev may very well be Lin's prime backup by the season's end.
Peace.
