Yes that was a blatant rip-off. I do not participate in the predictions with wins/losses and scores as I do not want to jinx the team. I do like to try to predict the path that the front office will take from time to time and this seems like a good time to try to sort out the next move of Jedi Master Morey.
Unless you live under a rock you are aware that our starting center from last year is not happy with the bench duty he is currently called upon to do. After a brief tantrum which brought the situation national attention, he has returned to the fold and is performing quite well in his relief capacity.
Despite Asik's return to the fold, it is painfully obvious that he believes he can and should start for someone. Who is the problem. One part of that equation has become a lot less difficult since T Jones has been starting. Per twitter
If Jones keeps it up, Morey can make best Asik deal he can find, regardless of position. Prob would've anyway, but can feel better about it.— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) November 24, 2013
If this holds true, Morey will most likely take the best deal he can get for Asik. My thoughts on what qualifiers will be in play are, in no set order. Morey does try to find good situations for players that have helped the team. I think Omer fits that bill nicely so a stint with the Siberian National Team is not likely in his future. We are in "win now mode", so upside and potential will not get a lot of traction here. Smith, DMO, and others have shown some ability at the 5 and Camby may return to serviceable status and as he is doing his rehab at our facility we will be the first to know.
Keeping all this in mind, here is the challenge. Predict what we will get for Omer. Players and or picks and be specific. Don't include picks that teams do not have. Also please check to see if a trade will work. No need to post the trade machine result as that often does not work, but at least plug in the players to see if it will fly. No reward apart from bragging rights which will be pretty substantial considering I can't remember many folks around here guessing a Morey deal before. At least this time you should have the first part of the puzzle.
