I know that this is pretty off topic. But as a former manager of an SBN blog (The Crawfish Boxes), I know how powerful of a platform SBN communities are.
A old friend of mine from high school, a fellow Houstonian transplanted in Chicago, is in the midst of creating a pretty awesome sounding musical about the NBA lockout. He and his co-writer are running a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds. Henry Abbott even wrote about it.
Now, just because a buddy of mine is a Houstonian writing a musical about the NBA doesn't get me to the point where I'd use the Dreamshake as a platform to advertise for my buddy.
But, pursuing through the backer's list to see which of our friends from high school had or had not shelled out a few bucks to help out Ben, one backer in particular caught my eye: Dork Elvis, himself.
I don't know how this has gone under the radar (I guess it's entirely possible it's not Daryl Morey, but rather some impostor). But I figure that if presumptive-Dork Elvis himself thinks it's a project worth backing, there might be a few like minded folks in the audience here that agree. And that presumptive-Dork Elvis is backing this project made this Rockets-newsworthy enough for me to bombard you with this plug for The Lockout: A Musical.
Who knows, if you back it, you might get to attend a Google Hangout with Mr. Morey.
