Because he's pretty good as a shooting guard. I could direct you to the nbageek site for the head to head wins produce comparison but not everyone takes to WP48.
Here's Garcia's most important stats.

I'll list them out.
Shooting. Garcia shoots above average. In fact, he ties delfino for career trey%. He has a BETTER eFG%/Ts%. That means he finishes better. He also takes 1 less trey per game. He has better points per shot.
If you look at the fouls, Garcia actually has a lot of fouls. Which probably means he plays defense. He's too old to still fall for pump fakes. This is corroborated by Garcia's career block rate which is a LOT higher than delfino.
Here's what I'm thinking. Having Garcia will make Delfino behave.
Also, why are we playing Delfino at any position where you need rebounds?
We don't need extra Centers or guards to spell Harden or Asik. We need a guy to spell Parsons. We've got exactly 0 depth there. No one can shoot and rebound and assist at Parson's level or even on an average level.
Morey needs to address the SF situation as soon as possible.
(i just looked at the Honeycutt stats. I really like his trends. It looks this guy learns fast.) Holy moses. Morey really did rape sactown.
