Carlos Delfino goes off in Rockets victory over Magic

USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets were locked in a tight battle with the Magic on Friday night, but they used a late game push to get the much-needed win.

With five minutes left, Arron Afflalo dished to Nikola Vucevic for a layup to put the Magic up 100-98 and the Rockets seemed like they were poised to have yet another disappointing loss in a week where they desperately needed victories. Then, without warning, the Rockets' offense took off, with Patrick Beverley, James Harden, and Carlos Delfino all hitting huge shots in three minutes to give the Rockets a 112-102 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

It was anything but a defensive struggle as both sides shot above 54% from the field and 40% from behind the arc, but the Rockets' free throws nearly doomed them yet again. James Harden shot 10-11 from line, but the rest of the team shot just 9-17.
