BD and I both have commented on this but here is yet another in the alternative universe, called reality, where DH doesn't come to the Rockets.
So assuming there is a decent chance DH comes here...great. At least everyone thinks that will be great. Great!...great?
OK, but assuming he doesn't go there, where does he go? Atlanta or Dallas? Why would he. By himself in Atlanta with Horford. How well did him and Pau work together? Dirk probably works a little better but Dirk in declining and won't be around down the road for all of Howard's K.
So that leaves us and the Clippers. Here is what I be happens. if he doesn't go to the Rockets, then he does a sign and trade to the Clippers for Griffin and another player, Bledsoe, or whoever.
Then what happens in Lakers land...besides "woe is me"...our life is so hard in sunny southern CA.
Well one very possible option is the amnesty or willingness to trade Pau Gasol. Maybe they trade him. Who would take such a huge K? Well maybe he agrees to resign with the rockets for a 3 to 4 year deal. That works in my books. Asik and Gasol playing together would be great. If we do a sign and trade that gets problematic. Maybe we trade Robinson and who else? No one that I can think of.
If he gets amnestied then we have another shot at Pau. We sign him off waivers.
...the Lakers can always just play through next year with the massive hole at center...or fill it with Dalembert or another center. and I guess they just completely blow two seasons or so...and the end of Kobe's career.
Doubtful...but there are my thoughts, random as they are.
