As some of you may know the blazer starting line up is missing a key piece. A center. Meyers is too young, Whitey is a second rounder and JJ Hickson was not a...uh...strong defender. So lets assume that you guys manage to land Dwight Howard. What would it take to get Omer Asik?
I know you guys are trying to gain cap space so i'll assume that the only things that you would want back are small contract players with high potential.
Would you do the following three team trade
Houston trades Asik and T. Rob
Portland trades Batum, Barton, Withey and Freeland,
Charlotte trades MKG, 2nd rounder
Houston receives MKG, Withey, future 2nd rounder,
Portland receives Asik and T-rob
Charlotte receives Batum, Barton and Freeland
Houston does this because they clear cap space to get a Howard and they get two high potential prospects of need with small salaries.
Charlotte does this because according to rumors they are interested in trading MKG for a high caliber player of the same position and I think Batum fits that.
Portland does this because they finally get a center that has a clue on defense and gets a back up powerforward in T. Rob. Losing Batum is rough, but it is easier to replace a SF then a C.
Note that these trades are only if you guys receive confirmation that Howard will sign with you. Note that Aldridge is off the table.
What do you think? is it fair? is it not? how would you change it? let me know!
