A friend and I discussed this briefly and the more I thought about it the more and more I liked the idea of Lin as a 6th man. I saw some people talking about it on the Bev thread so instead of highjacking it, I thought we could come here to kick it around.
There has always been talk about the clash of Lin and Harden's offensive games. The answer so far has been that Lin needs to figure out how to play with James, which was true, until Beverley emerged in the playoffs when Lin got injured. In my opinion, when you look at the depth of our team we are hurting for bench scoring. With the new starters we have that in spades and Lin would be 4th option after Harden/Howard/Parsons. Why not have him come off the bench when Harden and Howard sit and have him and Asik destroy other teams bench with the pick n roll that destroyed starters last year. Now I know he is old but what do you guys think about adding Chauncey Billups for the vet min? we would look like this:
Both lineups are balanced nicely with offense AND defense both in the paint and @ the perimeter. No one gets in each others way offensively plus everyone can be used to their fullest potential. I think Lin would flourish in a that lineup with Billups and Garcia as shooters, Asik to set picks and TJones to add athleticism and more offense. What do you guys think?
