When a GM wants a good player, most likely they make a list.
2. Who's on a team with a owner who's either too scared to take a risk on a good player or too cheap to pay him? (ie Harden, Deng)
3. Which rebuilding team is having a firesale on turning their current assets into future assets? (Hawes, Evan Turner, Sixers)
This is how most people knew that this trade deadline was so garbage. The List (I make one every year) had zero gamechangers. No statistical superstar. Not even an eye-test has-been.
So what's a GM to do? Morey's faced with a giant hole at power forward. At trade deadline, the best he could muster was a few hail marys at the SG and SF position--an obvious ploy to keep parsons and harden healthy for the playoffs. In light of Harden's recent elbow injury, we're probably gonna see a LOT of TROY and
There is something. The 2012 draft! Think about it! The draft that produced Anthony Davis! Their must be someone in the REJECT pile that was overlooked! And they've had one year overseas to percolate!
As usually the higher the number the better it is. There's nothing we can do about Anthony Davis (NO Pellies),Lillard (PORT Blazers) or Jae Crowder (DAL Mavs). Tyler is in the Developmental Hell that is Cleveland. Denmon, as usual, is under lock and key in France (otherwise known as Spurs' D-League).
But William Mosley and Jesse Sander were UNDRAFTED. And they've scored pretty well on my little color-o-meter. Both played overseas basketball. Mosley was the fifth highest shot blocker in NCAA history. Jesse Sanders was a top 5 PG when he left college. (Honorable mentions goes to Horton, my other favorite but not a Rocket need. Morey's got enough tweeners.)
*on a side note, Orlando Johnson's got a Yellow in Blocks. We've already got Troy and Hamilton but Johnson looks like he could fulfill a role somewhere.
In Conclusion, let's get Mosley. I know the TJ/Donat-junas supporters all say the 4-spot is perfectly fine---Bullshit. Let's go grab Mosley.
