Well that was not the best start. For anyone who is still seething over that loss, take a look at this video that was posted on the Rockets subreddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/rockets):
Amongst the things it demonstrates:
- McHale's poor late-game "strategy"
- Harden's and Parsons' poor recognition of game situation down the stretch, pushing early in the clock instead of running it down, especially against a team that has little to no paint defense
- Scott Foster's continued phantom calls, which down the stretch appeared to actual favor Portland, although there were poor calls for both sides
Anyhow, amends can be made by a victory tomorrow. And we'll need to split in Portland at the very least, after that to get back home-court advantage.
By the way, I was at Game 1 and it was an amazing atmosphere. I have never seen the Toyota Center so pumped and so loud before the game has even began. I hope the Rockets stay in the hunt if only so that I can go to another game (which wouldn't happen before Game 7 of this series, or a future round).
Standings have not been calculated yet since I haven't created a new spreadsheet, yet.
