I'm aware that this is not going to be a particularly popular post. That being said after the week that Daryl Morey had for the Rockets it is incumbent upon the Rockets to think seriously about his future.
I can't recall another team having such a terrible week in free agency. In the span of 5 days the Rockets lost out on Chris Bosh, lost Chandler Parsons to the Mavericks for nothing, and traded Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik for a puck bag. In exchange we got Trevor Ariza, who is nothing more then a contract year performer. There is no way to spin it - the Rockets got their ass handed to them this week, and Morey deserves most of the blame.
Daryl Morey has done some amazing things for the Rockets in the past, most notably getting Harden and Howard for virtually nothing. However, as the Spurs proved conclusively in this years Finals, teams with depth, versatility, veteran leadership, and that play defense win championships, not "superteams". That is one reason why LeBron James left Miami to go back home to Cleveland. Morey is chasing a defunct model of winning championships. After what happened this week, it might be time to cut the cord on "Trader Morey" before he does more damage. And, BTW, f*** Cuban, Parsons, Bosh, and the Mavericks.
