Rockets Interested in Kaman??
The Hornets are getting inquires from several teams interested in obtaining center Chris Kaman in a trade, according to league sources. Since General Manager Dell Demps said this past Friday they intend to trade Kaman, at least five teams have inquired, including Southwest Division rivals the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets.

2012 Free Agents: It's Never Too Early For Plan B
Assuming the Rockets fail to land Pau Gasol or Dwight Howard, and accepting that Kyle Lowry's improvement has made pursuing Deron Williams less of a priority, what free agents will Daryl Morey & co. try to land this summer? It's early, but here are some players to keep an eye on. (Relying on this list.)
Guards
Andre Miller (Unrestricted) Yes, he will be 36 years old, but his game has aged well, he has experience playing in two point guard sets, so he can play alongside Lowry, and he can run the second unit efficiently, providing a steady hand to help the Rockets' young players develop.
Kirk Hinrich (Unrestricted) Remember him? He'll be 32, and is coming off injuries, but he should still be able to shoot the 3, play some defense, and run a second unit. He should also be affordable because of aforesaid injuries, and the number of point guards hitting free agency this summer.
Anyone Here Interested In Wilson Chandler?
He's poised to make his return to the NBA shortly, and I feel like he'd be a great addition to our roster. When taking in to consideration that Dwight Howard is probably not coming to Houston, I feel like using that cap space we currently have on a 2-way wing who is still only 25 years old would be a wise move because of his all-star potential.
He's 6'8", can score from the outside, has an ok handle and rebounds and passes the ball well. Denver currently holds his bird rights, but since they recently inked deals with Afflalo and Gallo, I figure they're not looking to keep him (although they may use him in a sign-and-trade). They also have incredible chemistry right now, and adding a player who would get a lot of touches seems to throw off the balance of their offense.
His presence on the wing as a scorer also makes Kevin Martin, a potentially very valuable (and older) trade chip, expendable. In an ideal world, I see us picking up Chandler and then trading Martin and Scola for Stoudemire, leaving us with Lowry / Dragic, Lee / Budinger, Chandler / Parsons (haha), Stoudemire / Patterson, and Dalembert / Hill.
What do you guys think about Morey going after Wilson Chandler?

Scola and Martin Trades Around SBN Communities
What are our players worth? this is hotly debated. Some think we over value Rockets players. This got me thinking. Is there a way we can gauge what our players values might be to other teams. I think so.
What I learned: EVERYONE wants Lowry for peanuts and many think Lowry+Scola is worth a star.
Search SBN blogs for "scola trade" and "Martin trade"
Lets see what kinds of options we have (other than TDS posters on other sites, or our own).
This is all I found.

Observations from the bench (well...close to it)
Being a long time Rockets fan, I was elated when I finally got the chance to sit really close to the floor at the Bucks game Wednesday. Sitting right by the Rockets bench, here are some experiences and observations I took away:
- Kyle Lowry is serious as hell. So are Dalembert and Dragic. Twill and Jordan Hill are the opposite. Courtney Lee appears to be the only one who can be both.
- Seems like every player can block out fan noise, except T-Will. He will look if you call his name. And yes, my girlfriend did call out EVERY players name (quite embarrassing to say the least)
- Parsons has a god awful follow through on his jumper. Also, I am pretty sure I saw Courtney Lee showing him how to shoot a basketball during warmups.
- You've got to see Dbert play in person. They guy is extremely athletic for his size. He also always looks like he is trying to figure out a math problem, anybody notice that?
- Got to shake hands with Bill Worrell and Clyde. Bill looks like a wax figure.
- Just a little extra...got on kiss cam and caught a hat
Anyways, it was a pretty awesome experience for a Rockets fan. A win would have been nice though (32-6 run, really?)
Any other fans out there have any good court-side stories? Or experiences with Rockets players / personnel up close?

Rockets fans in Houston are pathetic.
Why am I saying this? Because this is officially a fact. How can we have a team playing very well right now and in the 4th largest city in the US, but have the second worst attendance in the NBA? Teams like the Hornets, Nets, Kings, and Wizards. These are terrible teams. We are second only to the Pistons. I sure would like to hear theories on this rubbish. I would not be surprised if the team got moved to another city because this city does not deserve to have a basketball team. The fans don't care unless we rip 22 wins in a row. And even then they will say it's a "fluke". Can someone explain this to me?

Just putting an idea out there
Pau Gasol for Goran Dragic Luis Scola and Hasheem Thabeet.
Why rockets do it: They get a good big man who is pretty close to a star and retain kevin martin
Why Lakers do it: They get a pretty good underrated PG in Dragic and a replacement for pau and they can decline Hasheem thabeets option in Free agencey so theyll have more money
Lowry/Flynn
Martin/Lee
Parsons/Budinger
Gasol/Patterson
Dalembert/Hill
it works on the trade machine... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7howbfa
whould you do it?
This Is A Fake Trade.
This is my first posting to TDS, but I've been following the site for a while. Here is a possible three way trade between the Rockets, Lakers, and Magic. I hope you find it amusing.

Rockets 2012 Roster Post Trade:
Lowry/Dragic
Lee/TWill
Turkoglu/Parsons/Budinger
Gasol/Patterson
Dalembert/Hill
Why the Rockets Do It:
According to Hollinger, we dramatically increase our win total with this trade.
While Turkoglu and Gasol are on the downslope of their careers, they still remain long and incredibly skilled big men whose drop offs may not fully realize themselves before their (admittedly expensive) contracts expire in 3 years.
I’m wary of Turkoglu, but he is once again playing well with a PER of 17.7. At any rate, replacing Scola (also declining and expensive) and Thabeet (expensive for no production whatsoever) with Turkoglu and Gasol is unquestionably an upgrade to our frontline.
We immediately contend with a roster that goes 2 deep or better at every position (assuming Hill and TWill can prove themselves to be adequate in backup roles; if not, Patterson and Budinger can take their minutes).
Dalembert will man the middle. Gasol will score and command double teams. Turkoglu will act as another facilitator for the offense (his liability on defense can be covered by up by Dalembert and Gasol). Lee will play speedy defense. Lowry will continue to be his awesome self.
After the season is over, we let TWill, Flynn, and Hill walk, saving 8.7 mill in salaries. We then use our picks in a seemingly loaded draft to further improve our roster and stay in contention. Add Morris and D-Motie into the mix and our future looks bright.
I know that many will hesitate to part with Martin and his efficient scoring, but let’s look at the whole picture. A backcourt of Lowry and Lee is much better defensively, and Martin’s offense will be replaced as his shots are divided up among the team.
Also, if Turkoglu begins to suck again, we amnesty him. We don’t have to spend to replace him since we’re deep at the SF position anyway.
Lakers 2012 Roster Post Trade:
Fisher/Blake
Bryant/Kapono
Barnes/World Peace/Walton
Scola/McRoberts/Murphy
Howard/Caracter
Why the Lakers Do It:
DWIGHT. HOWARD.
Hollinger predicts that this trade positively affects their win total, while shedding about 7 million in salary.
After the trade, the team can amnesty either World Peace or Luke Walton for further luxury tax savings.
Using Lamar Odom’s trade exemption, they can also continue looking for a serviceable PG and keep their window of contention open.
Magic 2012 Roster Post Trade:
Nelson/Duhon
Martin/Redick
J-Rich/Q. Richardson
Anderson/Davis
Bynum/Orton
Why the Magic Do It:
According to Hollinger, this trade negatively affects their win total. However, you don’t lose the NBA’s best center (3x Defensive Player of the Year) without facing some sort of drop off.
Howard is gone after this season anyway. Getting the next best center in the NBA and a proven scorer in Kevin Martin is not a bad consolation prize. Did I mention that you also shed your team’s worst contract (Turkoglu) in the deal?
Thabeet is a throw in to make the salaries work, but the Magic do need a back up C. Maybe Patrick Ewing and Stan Van Gundy can make something of him (doubtful), or the Magic can simply let his contract come off the books at the end of the season.
At any rate, this is still a very competitive team and a shoe-in for the playoffs in the weak East.
I did my best to create a scenario that doesn’t insult any of the teams or their fans. Can anyone see why this trade wouldn’t work? Is there a flaw in my logic or something I’m not seeing?
