Daryl Morey and nerds

Daryl Morey joins Major League Gaming's board of director. In his words "eSports will someday be the biggest sport in the world". I'm coming out of the closet and declaring that I'm a nerd and damn proud to be one too. Also, Daryl Morey rocks.

Early Predictions for Next Season

Find out why I think Dwight Howard will make be next seasons Defensive Player of the Year and possibly MVP!

The Top Contender of the West : Houston Rockets

With the addition of Dwight Howard, the Houston Rockets are looking extremely strong going into next season, as they have got the one missing piece to their lineup- a true, power center.

NBA Free Agency Bonanza- PART 2 (J. Smith, M. Ellis, and Howard)

Dwight Howard surprised us all and didn’t drag his decision out beyond the first week of free agency, ultimately on deciding with the Houston Rockets. This instantly makes the Rockets a contender and one of the favorites to grab the SouthW...

If you like to read about personal encounters with Rockets players (Lin in this case).

A friend emailed me a pretty cool article of an encounter with Lin and table tennis. We had joked about geeky Morey building an affinity with the Rockets via table tennis (first Lin, then Dwight) ... anyway, the writer's kinda funny, had me LOL'd for a sec because I know what it's like to run into a celebrity.

Parsons among the top chuckers?

Kirk Goldsberry put Parsons on a list of worstshooters that includes Monte Ellis and Josh Smith. To be fair, he did elaborate on Parsons' strengths and weakness.

NBA free agency: Rockets, Reggie Williams agree to 2-year contract By Scott Schroeder  @ScottSchroeder on Jul 10 2013, 4:55p +

Reggie Williams will move on from the Charlotte Bobcats to the Houston Rockets on a two-year deal, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. The contract will pay him considerably less than the two-year, $5 million deal he had with the Bobcats, however, as Stein reports it's for the veteran's minimum and the second year is a team option. The 26-year-old swingman wasn't able to get drafted out of VMI despite leading the NCAA in scoring for his junior and senior years. After spending a year playing in France, however, Williams was able to parlay some NBA Development League success into a nice little NBA career. The former third-round pick in the D-League has started 32 games of the 177 games he's played in the past four years, splitting time between the Golden State Warriors and Bobcats. Unfortunately for him, however, his scoring average has gone down all four seasons and he was on the floor for less than ten minutes per game last season for the struggling Bobcats.

Houston Projected as 1st Seed By Wages of Wins

A lot of my own predictions are based on Wins Produced. Think of it as chemistry's STP. All conditions being perfect, all coaches being rational with playtime, their numbers are usually very correct. The predicted 63.7 wins is if Mchale plays his best guy the most. Using my one year sample of Mchale--his predicted win rate is -5. Out of the maximum amount of wins, he will lose 5 wins. Probably by playing Casspi 30% more often. 59 wins aint bad.
