Aug 2010 interview with Andris Biedrins courtesy of Golden State of mind "Well, it is what it is…it is what it is…The first few years when you are young you can run like a horse but now the injuries pile up. One year you sprain one ankle, the next year you sprain the other one and they don’t go away, they keep getting weaker and weaker. Then you sprain your back, then you have muscle surgery and they all aren’t going away. You will never get a new ankle and they start to ache; you start to feel the old injuries. So, if you play 6-8 years, you will have so many injuries, that I guess I won’t be playing a long time. Something like playing till I’m 30 years old but I won’t aim a lot further than that. I don’t want to damage my health further. The things I’ve seen in America from players that come to games in their fifteenth career year is not something I want because they look pretty bad. It’s like Keith Smarth says to us "you start to really feel these injuries when you’re 40 years old or something, all these injuries, that you have gotten, when you were 20-25." So I would never want to put myself in a position where I have to walk with the aide of a cane when I get older." Daryl Morey better think twice!

The Jazz is rumored to be making Paul Millsap available. But they also are said to be holding open the possibility of moving Al Jefferson in a larger deal if they can get Kanter, a deal that could net them a shooting guard, like Monta Ellis or Kevin Martin with Golden State at No. 11 and Houston No. 14. So then Utah would go big. NBA.com

New Houston coach Kevin McHale is looking for a No. 1 assistant and the Rockets are ready to offer $1.2 million over three years. But at least one candidate was scared off when he correctly deduced that a member of McHale's staff, Chris Finch, is GM Daryl Morey's golden boy. They're already talking about Finch, promoted recently from coaching in the D-League, as McHale's eventual successor. McHale's biggest task at the outset: Bringing law and order to a disharmonious locker room. New York Daily News

The Rockets continue to be aggressive as well, looking around the league for help ... any help. From what I can gather, no one in Houston is safe. The team especially would like to add a center, and there aren't a lot of great options at No. 14.
