Hi Rocketeers - enjoying this trip? Yeah, it's about what I thought it would be.
So, how appropriate is it that the Utah Jazz now play in Energy Solutions Arena (or center, or centre, or whatever). This is a company that primarily deals with nuclear waste. Not that there's something wrong with proper disposal of nuclear waste, but the Jazz and nuclear waste somehow seem destined for each other. Jerry Sloan apparently has a deadly half-life of many many decades, as well. Centuries, for all we know.
So, last night. Los Angeles. I thought that was a valiant effort. I don't think the loss is on Adelman, or Brooks, or anyone in particular. Yes, it's the same damn theme again. There is no help in the middle. Chuck Hayes gives his best effort, but in the crunch asking him to stonewall Pau Gasol is too much - the man is giving up like 7 inches in the paint.
That's the way the Lakers beat us (that and incredibly sloppy ball handling in the early 4th that might have let us escape with a win). In the overtime LA pounded the paint, or Kobe went down the middle. Who was there to stop them? No one. There isn't even a whiff of shot blocking.
On a personal note, I've got a lot of things going on, not all of them fun, so my posting has fallen off. I apologize for this, but The Dreamshake is a labor of love for everyone here. Sometimes writing recaps and post and life aren't compatible, and this is one of those times. It's not the losing, because I think this Rockets team is very close to being excellent. You may disagree, but I think adding a quality center changes everything.
Anyhow, if we're going to win any game, I'd like it to be this one.
