Rockets-Grizzlies preseason game preview

The Rockets wrap up the preseason tonight in Memphis.

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in their last game of the preseason. And even though it's preseason and jumping to conclusions mat can bite you in the behind, you have to say it's been an overwhelming success so far.

The starters have looked fantastic no matter which group started. Both point guards are playing at a different level than last year. Harden looks to be in midseason form already. Howard is giving his complete effort. Parsons has adjusted his game to being a fantastic complementary piece. And Omri Casspi has been a welcome surprise. This team is going to be fun to watch, if you can watch them.

I like the Grizzlies, but I think their window is closed. They're a fantastic defensive team but their two wings are liabilities on offense and don't allow Gasol and Randolph to work one-on-one down low. I still expect them to finish in the top 5 of the West, but I'd be surprised if they ever returned to the Western Conference Finals.

Apologies for the late "preview." It's been a hectic week over here. Enjoy this last preseason game. The season finally starts on Wednesday.

Tip-off is 7pm CST.
