When the Rockets signed Aaron Brooks to a minimum deal this summer, many thought it was nothing more than a luxury signing, a deal that would give the Rockets insurance but little else. Last night, as the Rockets were shorthanded and beat up, that insurance came in handy as Brooks exploded for 21 points as the Rockets beat the Hawks by 29.
He was not the only one to get in on the fun as seven different Rockets hit double figures, and Francisco Garcia added a season-high 21 himself. More importantly, the Rockets held the Hawks to just 42% shooting, and controlled the boards to the tune of a 42-32 advantage.
