One night after falling victim to a supremely talented Los Angeles Clippers team, the Rockets came back and beat the Trail Blazers on a late night in Portland. James Harden led the way with 33 points for the Rockets, and Dwight Howard had his most complete night as a Rocket with 29 points and 13 rebounds. On the Blazers side of the ball, LaMarcus Aldridge had his typical 21 point night, and Nicolas Batum, Damian Lillard, and Wesley Matthews all played well.
After opening up the bench to Greg Smith the night before, the Rockets returned to an eight man rotation, and Patrick Beverley made his return to the floor, struggling with his shot in the early going but giving the Rockets some quality minutes especially on the defensive end.
At the end of the day, it was Harden and Howard's night. And that, my friends, is a line you will here for years to come. More to come as the night goes on.
