Ever since Omer Asik was relegated to the bench just weeks ago, the spotlight was thrust upon him as a potential trade target for other teams. Jeremy Lin, a subject of plenty of trade rumors this summer, flew under the radar, but Alan Hahn of ESPN Radio is reporting that the Rockets may not have stopped their efforts to move him in the next few months.

And I know this is blasphemy, but I'm telling you right now: Jeremy Lin could also be on his way out of Houston. If they can find a taker for him and that contract ... like I said from what I heard, I've talked to some GM's from around the league, there is a strong feeling that if the Rockets can find a taker, they will definitely move Jeremy Lin, that's for sure.
We heard a lot about Lin potentially getting traded this summer just when the Rockets signed Dwight Howard, and with Aaron Brooks and Patrick Beverley capable of holding down the point guard spot with both on minimum contracts, the Rockets could make a deal with Lin to free up some major cap space this summer. If Omer Asik gets traded for draft picks as has been rumored lately and Lin is moved for an expiring deal, the Rockets could be in a position to make a near-max offer this summer to any free agent.
With that said, the Rockets are a very difficult team to pin down when it comes to trade rumors simply because they are always active and won't shut themselves out to anything. They will listen to offers for any player on their roster, and just because they discuss a trade doesn't mean a player is on his way out.
Lin is one of the most discussed players in the league by the media, so if a trade is at all discussed, it is likely to come out one way or the other. I wouldn't pay too much attention to this single report, but it is definitely something worth keeping an eye on as December 15th rolls around.
