In the beginning of July, the Warriors and Rockets both went all out in their pitches to Dwight Howard to try to woo him to their teams. In the end, the Rockets won out, landing the superstar center and leaving the Warriors to sign Andre Iguodala. In the matchup between these two teams, Dwight Howard showed the Warriors exactly what they were missing tonight with a 22 and 18 night, dominating them on both ends of the floor as the Rockets coasted a 105-83 victory.
James Harden was also huge, adding 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, and in a team effort that saw Chandler Parsons return to the floor, it was the Rockets' game from the start. The Rockets managed perhaps their best quarter of the season in the first, outscoring Golden State 31-12, then followed that up with another strong second to push their lead to 24 by halftime.
From there, they simply held on. James Harden and Dwight Howard continued to stuff the statsheet, Terrence Jones pitched in with a double-double of his own, and the Rockets kept it together for an excellent victory over the Warriors.
