The Rockets have announced that starting point guard Patrick Beverley will be inactive for tonight's home opener against the Celtics.

Beverley injured his left hamstring during the Rockets' 104-93 win against the Jazz on Wednesday night. Through two games this season, Beverley has 8.0 PPG, 3.5 APG, and 3.5 RPG. In Beverley's place, Isaiah Canaan will get the start for Houston.

This is Canaan's first career start since being drafted by the Rockets in the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft. The Murray State product played 22 regular season games last season, posting 4.6 PPG and a .327 3-point% in 11.5 minutes.

The Houston Rockets' home opener against the Boston Celtics tips tonight at 7:00 PM CT.
