Take a look at this crazy shot by Geron Johnson in the final seconds of the Vipers home opener against the Austin Spurs.
Down 118-120 with 16 seconds left in the game, Tony Bishop fed the ball in the post to guard Geron Johnson who has a game tying layup blocked. Then, with five seconds left in the game Johnson gets his own rebound and.... well just look for your self.
If you listen closely you can hear the Vipers celebratory Mariachi music, gotta love the RGV.
Johnson, a shooting guard out of Memphis, has bounced around the Rockets organization a bit. He was invited to play with the team in the Summer League and signed a deal with the team on Oct. 24 only to be waived the next day. Eventually he would up on the Vipers roster and made it through training camp. Johnson put in major work Friday night swishing 23 points in 29 minutes while pulling down four rebounds, two steals and a block.
Rocket's 2014 first round pick Clint Capela didnt play as he's still nursing a groin injury but might be able to play Saturday night in the second game of the back-to-back against the Spurs.
