According to an official NBA press release, Patrick Beverley has been named to the All-Defensive second team, marking his first such award. Beverley finished in third place among guards, falling just behind Chris Paul and Andre Iguodala.

Beverley plays an in your face type of defense that has impressed many Rockets fans but infuriated just as many players on the other side, but it is clear that his defense is well-respected from the voting. Here were the full results, courtesy of the NBA:

First Team:
Position | Player, Team | 1st Team Votes (2 pts) | 2nd Team Votes (1pt) | Total Points

Center | Joakim Noah, Chicago | 105 | 13 | 223
Forward | Paul George, Indiana | 65 | 31 | 161
Guard | Chris Paul, LA Clippers | 64 | 28 | 156
Forward | Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City | 54 | 44 | 152
G/F | Andre Iguodala, Golden State 57 | 34 | 148

Second Team:
Position | Player, Team | 1st Team Votes (2 pts) | 2nd Team Votes (1pt) | Total Points

Also receiving votes on the Rockets were Dwight Howard and James Harden. Yes, James Harden got two All-Defensive team votes. That is not a joke.
