The Rockets are chasing every star free agent under the sun. They just traded Omer Asik to the Pelicans for a first rounder in 2015. The team has a Jeremy Lin trade lined up ready to get done if they can land Carmelo or LeBron. Oh, and the draft is tonight. The Rockets have a pair of picks, the 25th pick and the 42nd pick, and are likely looking to fill spots on their weak bench if they end up keeping either pick.
The team lost it's best bench player in Asik, Lin seems to be on his way out, and Francisco Garcia and Omri Casspi will both be free agents. With so little firepower on the bench, it seems likely that the team will at least take one player in the second round with the hope of having him develop into a rotation player.
What do you think is going to happen? Are they going to swing a deal? Let the conversation begin in the comments!
