Chris Bosh will sign with the Houston Rockets if LeBron James leaves Miami, reports say

If LeBron James does leave Miami to sign with the Cavaliers, Chris Bosh will be a Houston Rocket, ESPN says.

The Houston Rockets have been chasing every desirable free agent under the sun, but nine days into free agency they have yet to agree to any contracts. Tonight, however, it appears as though the situation will hit a climax as Chandler Parsons has agreed to a contract with Dallas and now Chris Bosh appears headed to the Rockets if LeBron James leaves Miami.

This is what ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Chris Broussard had to say:

If James does choose to leave the Heat, free agent Chris Bosh will sign with the Houston Rockets, sources said. James not rushing to make a choice could put a time squeeze on Bosh. Though he hopes to remain with the Heat along with James, sources said, Bosh has secured a backup offer for four years and $88 million from the Rockets.

The Rockets don't have all week to get the deal done, however. With the Parsons offer sheet set to be delivered tomorrow, they will have all of three days to trade Jeremy Lin, sign Chris Bosh, then match the Parsons deal. So let's hope LeBron announces his intentions sooner rather than later. It could be a tight three days.

On the bright side, it does appear more and more likely that LeBron will flee Miami for Cleveland, and if that announcement comes tomorrow as some reports indicate, the Rockets could get the ball rolling on finishing up their business. If they come out of free agency with Parsons signed, Bosh under contract, and another bench player with their room exception, they can't complain.

Until LeBron James makes his decision, the Rockets must do the same thing the rest of the league is doing: Wait.
