6 weeks after free agency opened, Jordan Hamilton has agreed to terms on a one year contract with the Toronto Raptors. The deal is reportedly unguaranteed, meaning Hamilton will have to fight for a spot in training camp in Toronto.
Hamilton came over from Denver in a deal for Aaron Brooks to shore up the Rockets poor wing depth, with the hope that he would be an upgrade over Omri Casspi and Francisco Garcia. He had his moments, but for the most part, Hamilton struggled to stick in the rotation and the writing was on the wall once the season ended. He shot just 39% from the field, including 36% from three point distance, and never really hit his form.
With Kostas Papanikolaou and Troy Daniels signed to backup the two wing positions, Hamilton didn't really have much of a future with the Rockets. Maybe he can break through with the Raptors.
