I'm sure you've seen the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge going around on social media, but if you haven't, it's a social media campaign aimed at raising funds and awareness for ALS research. Today, a number of USA Basketball players got in on the action, with Rockets guard James Harden as well as Steph Curry, DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay, Kenneth Faried, and DeMarcus Cousins all getting covered in ice water for a good cause.

Update:
Adam Silver accepts Team USA's challenge.
I am typically skeptical of mass social media "awareness campaigns," but this one has been remarkably successful. The ALS Association has raised more than $5 million in donations towards research since July 29th, compared to just $32,000 in the same period last year, thanks in part due to this campaign.
If you would like to donate to the ALS Association, here is the link. Any donation helps, no matter how small.
