Saturday against the Heat was very, very encouraging. Even against a weak team, the Rockets were on the second night of a back-to-back, had just traveled in that overnight, and had just been blown out.
Josh Smith went to the bench, Donatas Motiejunas was starting, and all seemed right with the world. They played roughly the same amount of minutes, but both were far more effective in their (hopefully permanent) new roles.
Tonight is when we can see if Saturday was an aberration. The Bulls are largely healthy, as are the Rockets (no Alexey Shved, potentially no Mike Dunleavy). A close loss would still be palatable -- the Bulls are really good and at home -- but it will all be in how the Rockets play, not the results. Here's hoping.
