**UPDATE** The Rockets have announced J.B. Bickerstaff will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season with no long-term decisions being made.

Things haven't been going well for the Rockets. It appears the Rockets front office feels the bulk of blame falls on 5-year head coach Kevin McHalem or at least it is the only change they can make at the moment. McHale was fired by the Rockets today, per Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Houston started the season with three-straight 20-point losses. Now the team has lost four straight games, and has held a players only meeting.

The team has looked uninterested, lackluster, and disorganized this season. This coming after a season the team reached the Western Conference Finals, losing to the Golden State Warriors in five games.

McHale, the NBA Hall of Fame player, became the 12th coach in Rockets franchise history in before the 2011-12 season, replacing Rick Adelman. McHale had a record of 189-123 in the regular season, and a 13-16 record in the post season.

J.B. Bickerstaff will serve as interim coach as the Rockets search for McHale's long-term replacement.
