Last season, the Rockets got the Blazers for the first time of the season at home with Portland coming off a back-to-back. Houston needed revenge for their first round series the year before. Harden went off and Houston blew out the Blazers.
Tonight, it's time for the favor to be returned.
The Clippers haven't forgotten last year's playoff collapse. Up 3-1 against the Rockets and then up double-digits in the second half at home in Game 6, the Clippers blew every remaining game to be knocked out of the playoffs. Since then, they've brought in former Rockets and stewed about blowing their shot at a title.
So tonight is destined to be a rough night for Rockets fans. The Staples Center will be rocking. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan will be dunking. Chris Paul will act superior. Jamal Crawford and J.J. Redick won't ever miss. Pablo Prigioni will steal a couple of inbounds passes. Josh Smith will rain down triples. Lance Stephenson will get a triple-double.
Essentially, if Houston doesn't lose by 50 it will be a moral victory for the Rockets.
Tip-off is at 9:30pm CST.
Prediction: Clippers win by 49.
