You know the story because AK broke it down like always. The Rockets look to get above .500 for the first time since they were 4-3 after a win against the Clippers way back on November 7th.
And they also look to avoid a season series sweep at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. Raise your hand if you thought that would be possible before the season started.
In all fairness, the Rockets are playing better and are now 8-5 under new coach J.B. Bickerstaff and have also won 7 out of their last 9 games. The team slowly, but surely, is finding their way, and a resurrection to an actual winning basketball team can happen tonight.
Things to watch for are: How many minutes do we get from Donatas Motiejunas tonight? We should start seeing a gradual increase in his workload.
Can Dwight Howard build off of a 18-point, 12-rebound performance against the Lakers? The Rockets need more of that Dwight and less of the 4-point, 9-rebound Howard we saw against Washington.
Can the team continue its hot three-point shooting? The return of their three-point shot has directly coincided with more strikes in the win column.
UPDATE: Clint Capela will not play tonight due to a case of food poisoning.
