The Houston Rockets have recalled rookie guard Nick Johnson from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Johnson has played 17 games for the Rockets this season making minimal contributions when the team needed guards. He found a small amount of court time with injuries to Patrick Beverley and Jason Terry.

In the D-League Johnson averaged 20.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 14 games.
In the NBA Johnson averaged 3.2 points in his appearances. Totaling a high of 8 points twice. He touched the court for a high of 22 minutes twice.
Johnson doesn't solve the Rockets desperate need for a center to replace the injured Dwight Howard. There's no pending solution for that problem, but Johnson will provide another body on the bench at a time when Jason Terry and Patrick Beverley are both in shooting slumps. The hope Isaiah Canaan would provide a spark fizzled last night with an 0-5 shooting performance from three.
