The beard will have another avenue to bolster his MVP case, Harden will participate in the Foot Locker 3-Point Shooting Contest at this season's All-Star game in Brooklyn/New York City. He joins a loaded field of Marco Belinelli (Spurs), Stephen Curry (Warriors), Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers), Kyle Korver (Hawks), Wesley Matthews (Blazers), J.J. Redick (Clippers), and Klay Thompson (Warriors).
The even will take place on February 14 as part of All-Star Saturday, which includes the Degree Shooting Stars, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, and Sprite Slam Dunk starting 7:30 PM central time.
James Harden ranks fifth in 3-pointers attempted (336) and 3-pointers made (130). He shot 38.7 percent from behind the arc, which ranks twelfth highest among player that have attempted at least 200 3-pointers this season.
The field includes six of the top-eight 3-point shooters by percentage made with at least 200 attempts, Korver (1st, 53.2%), Thompson (2nd, .44.6%), Reddick (3rd,43.2%), Irving (5th, 40.8%), Curry (7th, 40.4%), and Matthews (8th, 43.2%). Not to forget the 2014 3-Point champion Marco Belinelli who is shooting 38.2% this season from three-point land with 102 attempts.
This is the first Rockets participant since Cuttino Mobley in 2004.
