Harden previously participated in the 2012 Olympics and 2014 World Cup, winning the gold medal in both events with team USA. Howard was the starting center for the 2006 World Championships, 2007 Americas Championship, and 2008 Olympic games -- winning the gold in Beijing.
Howard, if selected, would join a ridiculously deep center position for the United States with DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis. Harden was the captain of the 2014 World Cup team and averaged 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists during the games.
The opening ceremonies for the 2016 games are on August 5, 2016.
