Donatas Motiejunas returning from injury to play in D-League

It won't be long now.

The Rockets' big man rotation is about to get even more crowded.

Donatas Motiejunas plans to return to game action tomorrow in the D-League for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, per ESPN. He hasn't played a game in 2016 after tweaking his back on New Year's Eve. In the meantime, the Rockets have added Josh Smith, decided to start Trevor Ariza as a small-ball power forward and Terrence Jones has seen his role shrink significantly.

It's been so long since the Rockets have had a health Donuts, it is not a guarantee his style of play and his level of athleticism will seamlessly fit back in like last year. As he gets into shape, maybe a month from now, barring setbacks, may be the time to expect him to be close to his old self. But at this point in the season, I have come to not hold my breath that something will go right for D-Mo's health and the Rockets.
