Is Patrick Beverley Getting Wally Pipped?

The Houston Rockets just might have a Wally Pipp situation on their hands. Point guard Patrick Beverley will be out another 2 weeks or so according to head coach Mike D'Antoni on Friday.

Before the game on Saturday D'Antoni dropped this lil nugget.

Now, for perspective, all summer/training camp/preseason long, D’Antoni has mentioned that Beverley is and will be the team's starter. While the lineups of Eric Gordon and James Harden do seem like tons of fun, take what he is saying with a grain of salt.

But when D'Antoni has talked about who will start at center he keeps saying it's about who is the best fit. During the team's fifth preseason game, Nene started in place of Clint Capela, the team’s starter for the first four games.

Beverley may get the job out of the gate but if it looks like he's a little slowed or he's missing some chemistry with Harden. The move to Gordon just might happen.
