The Houston Rockets have recalled Sam Dekker from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday.

Nothing has gone the way as planned for the Houston Rockets including the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Sam Dekker. Dekker missed most of the Summer League with a back injury. He would later require surgery that forced him to miss three months of action.

Dekker made his NBA D-League debut with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday, Feb. 19. Dekker came off the bench to score eight points in 19 minutes in the Vipers' 116-100 road win over Santa Cruz. He picked up three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

The Rockets may be calling Dekker up to get a closer look at him in Houston with the ability send him up and down at will with the D-League his rookie season. Either Way it is a good sign to see Dekker able to play solid minutes after back surgery.
