Rockets waive Marcus Thornton

"Hey, what's up? Goodbye"

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets will waive Marcus Thornton on Friday, according to his agent Tony Dutt.

This is a tough one but expected. There have been reports about a possible trade or buyout for sometime now. Thornton was supposed to be part of the Donatas Motiejunas trade with the Detroit Pistons. The deal fell through when Motiejunas failed his medical exams.

Thornton was kind of set up to fail at small forward. He's too small for the position against most teams. Thornton's naturally a shooting guard, but of course, the Rockets are staffed in that spot. He had nice moments coming off the bench for instant offense, but his defensive inability ultimately made him a liability.

Best of luck to Fetty Wap!
