Two-game winning streaks are a rare occurrence for Houston this season. Being .500 is just as rare. Right now, the Rockets are sitting with both of those accomplishments and looking to rise above them.
The Boston Celtics are 39-26 and have won six of their last seven games, with the one loss coming in Cleveland. This is a good team that is playing great basketball. They have a great bench and it might get even better tonight if Kelly Olynyk returns to the lineup.
Boston is solidly in the second tier of Eastern Conference teams, and a win tonight would be a huge one for the Rockets.
Now, I'll get crucified for this but I think this matchup highlights one of the things that the "The media hates Houston!" crowd can use. Every year, I read media posts and comments that go after Houston's commentators with a vitriol usually reserved for Nazis. They're "homers" and "deliver incorrect information." Yet, the Celtics' announce team is easily worse than Houston's. But because Tommy Heinsohn is a "legend" no one says anything about him. Or, he's "lovably homer." Basketball fans can be really stupid sometimes.
Tip-off is at 6:30pm CST.
