Rockets vs. Celtics game thread: Rockets look to keep it going

Can the Rockets keep it rollin' in Boston tonight?

Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

The Rockets have actually looked like they've settled into a little groove these past two games and try for their third consecutive win (and their 4th out of the last 5) in tonight's game with the Boston Celtics.

James Harden has been on an absolute tear, averaging 36.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.5 steals in the four games in March, and he's been getting some help lately also. Patrick Beverley has been playing well (12 points, 5.5 rebounds. 3.5 assists, 2.8 steals in March), and the Rockets have been getting unlikely contributions from Corey Brewer, K.J. McDaniels, and even Michael Beasley.

If the ancillary pieces can keep giving the three main fixtures -- Harden, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza -- some help carrying the load, maybe the Rockets deserve to be a playoff team after all.

It will be no easy task against the number three team in the East, but a Rockets' win would tie them with Dallas for 7th place in the West and could pull them within a half game of Portland (if the Trail Blazers lose tonight at the Oracle against Golden State) for the ever-coveted 6th spot.
