In the NBA, there are games you want to win, are expected to win, and have to win. Tonight's contest against the Memphis Grizzlies hits all three of those categories.
The Rockets are at the point where they want to win every game. It's not really possible, but it's true.
The Rockets are expected to win this game because it's at home and the Grizzlies are decimated by injury. Among others, the Grizzlies will be missing Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, and Chris Andersen. Also potentially missing in action will be Zach Randolph and Vince Carter. Both missed the last game against the Hawks but with Houston's luck both will be ready and completely healthy tonight.
For Houston, getting back to making threes is the order of the day. If Houston can turn around their recent poor shooting display, as well as continue to play well inside, they could run the Grizzlies off the court. Houston is far from the 5 seed, but if Memphis struggles with all these injuries then Houston could at least make it interesting. Of course, that would require Houston to start playing well.
Tip-off is at 7pm CST.
